  1. Rebecca, I am originally from Almaty, Kazakhstan, and have lived in Seattle for 20 years now. I am enjoying reading your blog. Are you working at Nazarbayev University?

      • Yes, I was just there in August. Almaty is amazing. It is a good place to get away from Astana when it gets cold. I have friends in Astana and I am hoping to visit it soon.

  2. Hi Rebecca

I work at the same uni as you do/did in Astana. I’m also a librarian (although I’m not working here as one) & am from Australia which I think is the next country you’re moving to! Anyway, just want to say hello & wish you all the best for your cycling trip & the next move – if you need any tips/info on living in Australia please feel free to get in touch.

  3. Hi Rebecca, I am travelling through Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. I was wondering about your experience shopping for clothes in these countries. I am in desperate need of a lightweight dress! I found you with a google search and what a great find and interesting blog. Hope you are enjoying Astana!
