Russian Problems #1

People often confuse my name with “Rachel” back home, which I don’t understand because it shares no similarities to “Rebecca” other than beginning with “R.”

In Astana, this happens instead:

Taxi Driver: как вас зовут? (What is your name?)
Me: Rebecca
Taxi Driver: Barbara!
Me: Rebecca
Taxi Driver: Barbara!
Friend in the back of the taxi: Rebecca!
Taxi Driver: Barbara Barbara Barbara!
